Homophones--What?

Homophones are words that share the same pronunciation, but not the same spelling--or meaning.

English has millions of words adapted from languages across the globe, so it has over 7700 of these confusing words. (Here is a link to an extensive list of them: https://www.cooper.com/alan/homonym_list.html?)

It's a good idea to be aware of homophones--especially when you're writing something--to ensure that your message is communicating what you mean to say.
